I had question about some earrings before purchase as I’ve been caught out by dishonest sellers before, they were happy to take may photos of the item and guarantee authenticity. I'll be honest, I didn't go to Aleks with the intention of buying a ring that day. I was visiting several jewellers to check whether my ring sizer was accurate, but while I was there I got chatting about the kind of ring I had in mind and my budget. It was around ten minutes before closing, and I was very conscious of not holding anyone up, but Richard didn't give any sense of being in a rush. He took the time to go through exactly what I was looking for, talked through the options - the band, the stones - and made me feel completely at ease. The visit stuck with me. So after some deliberation I went back, and eventually settled on a design - A ruby halo ring with a diamond surround. The ring was ready within the timeframe given, and when I saw it, it was stunning. I did notice a very small darker spot in the plating after I got home. I brought it back, they looked at it, apologised without hesitation and said "no, that's not right, we'll get that sorted, when do you need it by?" Knowing my proposal was coming up, they had it back to me with plenty of time to spare, and it was perfect. And the complimentary gift box they gave when my fiancée and I went back together after the proposal to collect it was a nice touch. She really listened, asked the right questions, and showed me stones and settings so I could visualise the final rings. We have made several purchase from Aleks over the years and had many bits of jewellery repaired of made bigger, smaller and valued for insurance purposes. The staff are always fantastic and attentive we are not mass spenders in jewellery terms but still get their full attention, help and advice. We went this Saturday to get my diamond necklace and earrings cleaned which is a life time thing having purchased them from the shop.
